Goals and Objectives: -
Goals: Prevent new transmission of HIV and STI
Objectives: - By the end of two days workshop participants know about HIV/STI prevention and reduction of the HIV/STI transmission, stigma and discrimination and support as a network to other villagers-as a focal person in their village.
Activity:
Diseases Progression, Demonstration proper use of condoms (Male and female), prevention and transmission, stigma and discrimination, current HIV/AIDS in Bhutan (Bhutan Epidemiology and Policies), advantages of condoms, Voluntarily Counseling Test, Behavior Change, Network formation and group counseling in spreading the words not the diseases.
OUTCOME
i) All the participants Demonstrate proper use of condoms by the end of the two days workshop
ii) All the participants explain 3 advantages each of using condoms
iii) All the participants know about the diseases progression
iv) Attend VCT quarterly
v) Know about prevention and transmission-Doors- fluids
vi) All the participants know about WHAT can TRANSMIT and CANNOT Transmit
ISSUES, PROBLEMS encountered or lesson leant
The duration of the program was too short; such workshop should be conducted to all the villages.
2.Musical Night Show
YES Bhutan Network took a vital step and committed to bring mass awareness about YES in the country, in the month of October 2005 by organizing a musical night show. A professional music band titled Mongolian Heart, pioneered by a young and very popular Nepali vocalist from Nepal, named Raju Lama, was invited. In it another professional young Tibetan singer from Delhi, named Kinga Tenzin, was invited too to join the programme. It was an opportune moment for our in-country budding artistes to participate in the show and learn the skills from the professionales. The programme performed many fold aspects such as exchange of the skills, learning from each other, bring awareness among our youth of their latent talents which can be channalized towards employment creation at this hour of unemployment crisis. The programme also made the general population very much aware of this global organization and has contributed a great deal to our job seekers.
Besides this, many other important community members, private organizations, business people, schools and institutions were involved in support of the programme. There was a positive response from the community that number of organizations and private companies willingly sponsored the programme, in response to our requests, where they could advertise their products and services which boosted up the report of the YES.
More than hundred youth volunteered to assist the programme, in which they could garner a great deal of experience in volunteering and understand the importance of volunteers.
The programme was staged in two important town- Phuentsholing and Thimphu, the gateway to Bhutan and capital city respectively. The main objectives of the programme were:-
1. To raise fund to carry out various activities organized by YES Bhutan Network.
2. To share and exchange professional skills among our youth and the professional artistes.
3. To hunt explore and promote hidden talents amongst our youth and utilize it in employment creation.

Goals: Prevent new transmission of HIV/STI and provide support and care to our youth.
Objectives: - By the end of One-day workshop for youth in Phuentsholing know about HIV/STI transmission, stigma and discrimination and support as a network to the local Youth.
Activity:

i) 45 Youth Demonstrate proper use of condoms by the end of the one day workshop
ii) 48 Youth explain 3 advantages each of using condoms
iii) 35 Youth know about the diseases progression
iv) 30 Youth Attend VCT quarterly
v) 50 Youth Know about prevention and transmission-Doors- fluids
vi) All the participants know about WHAT can TRANSMIT and CANNOT Transmit
vii) 35 youth agree to carry condoms while moving from one place to another as well encourage other youth practice the same.
ISSUES, PROBLEMS encountered or lesson leant
The duration of the workshop was too short, all the youth should attend such kind of workshop or conduct such workshop to all the youth of different background, and such workshop is especially to us and for us.
4.World AIDS Day 2005: - “Keep the promise: Stop the Aids”
“ Stop AIDS: Keep your Promise “
To commemorate World AIDS Day 2005, on December 1st, 2005 YES Bhutan country network,
As part of our community service, we had carried out AIDS Awareness Campaign to create wide AIDS Prevention Stance in Phuentsholing Town and nearby villages. And we had invited the presence of youth of Phuentsholing along with the other organizations and the family members. To the Campaign, for sharing of information and “Keep the promise, Stop the Aids”

Concern: HIV/AIDS infection is spreading at an alarming rate.
Transmission: Through fluids, sharing infected syringes (Body piercing tools), barber’s blade, dentist’s tools, blood transfusion, and multi sex partners.

5.Winter Youth Program 2005-2006
This is for the information of all the Parents/Guardians/Well Wishers/Friends of youths that YES Bhutan Country network members will be organizing a number of skills and personally development activities for the youths during the winter break, which begins on 18th December 2005 and ends on 19th February 2006. Interested parents/guardians/youth are welcome to register their children/wards for the different activities (list attached) and thereby ensure that they spend their holiday meaningfully and intelligently.
